Overview
The brand is a subscription-based online math tutoring program for children.
Challenge
The brand ran Google Ads for a few years, mostly making money from branded terms. They couldn't scale past $3k/month and were losing money overall on their PPC efforts.
Approach
The first item We addressed was expanded testing to cold search intents since the only targeted searches were branded and a few competitor terms. We started with a search to get good granular data of the best or highest converting search intent groups, then used that data to make a high-performing Pmax campaign. Because of their high spending, we split retargeting into its own Pmax to run separately from all cold search intents to control our retargeting budget precisely. After about four months, they were ready to scale and continued to scale the budget for over a year.
Results
The brand was another case of a great brand that just needed a PPC structure that made sense and someone who was going to watch their campaigns daily. What started as a PPC campaign spending $3k/month with negative ROAS turned into a booming and complex structure that spends over $30k/month with month-over-month subscriber growth for the past year.
